No-exam life insurance

Who gets accepted for streamlined underwriting, what the procedure entails, and what happens when you do not.

Today, many insurers provide fast-track underwriting: applicants within age and amount parameters are approved using questionnaire responses, pharmacy reports, driving records plus other sources rather than requesting a medical exam. Approval is often given within hours. Look at your rates here—each lists whether a physical is mandatory, possible, or not necessary.

What it changes

No-exam coverage still goes through verification. The insurer confirms your statements and reserves the right to contest policies written based on inaccurate information within the first two years. Carriers may require an exam or testing if existing records raise red flags; at that stage, you can elect to continue or withdraw.

Who tends to qualify

Generally people younger than about 60 requesting coverage within the carrier's fast-track cap, having no significant prior health concerns and having remained tobacco-free for one year or more. Should you have undergone a medical evaluation with lab work within the past year, many providers allow that data in place of a fresh exam.

If required, an exam typically consists of a 20- to 30-minute session with a paramedical professional at your home or workplace in the La Habra region, at zero cost. An exam frequently qualifies eligible and healthy applicants for improved rate classifications, making it advantageous rather than burdensome.
